Finished knit # 2 out of my Whimsical Little Knits book. Now I am planning # 3 which will be the Ishbel. Ishbel is a simple ( I love that it says simple) shawl pattern that can be worked in two sizes. I only have 430 yards of Prism Saki in the Harvest color way. Mine will have to be the smaller size.

We started the knit a long with Laura Deer today-most of our Saturday morning knitters were at the wool festival or out of town. Come next Saturday ready to begin her fun knit. Laura has patterns at Serendipity if you would like to join, it is never to late.

Here is knit number two and the only type of mouse that doesn't send me running for the first available chair to jump on. Tami was so kind to let me have some yarn out of her stash in the office. This mousie is out of cashmere!! He will be heading to Seaside, CA to spend the remainder of his days with Keenan (our grandson) This was a fun little knit, what I learned---that I can knit on small needles and pick up stitches for his I-cord limbs and alert ears. Come see him and lets give him a name before he takes his airplane ride to CA.

Sarah Dipity came to visit

Sarah arrived today like a big surprise gift. We even had people stopped on the street to take a look at her. Gae Sharp-Richardson brought her by and I am very impressed with her skirt. It is all our old yarn bombing items from the trees we bombed this summer. Lots of ladies in our knitting community donated items for her attire. I even saw a sock on there I knit. LOL Come by the store and vote for our scare crow. All the donations go to the Beautification committee here in Buena Vista.

The "Speed Bump" Collection

Does anyone out there want to knit along with me as I knit through the "Whimsical Little Knits" book by Yolda. We have a few copies left if you would like to. This is my first attempt to knit everything in an entire book (only 9 small projects). Below you will see the first project I chose to knit --these adorable Mary Jane style booties which were quickly added to the "Speed Bump" collection. I am just getting started so come join me if you are so inclined.

Meet Leah from Twin Lakes. She is a delight to have in the store and is preparing for some long winter nights up on the mountain at 9000 plus feet. Leah is mastering the seed stitch (thanks Joan for teaching)

Western Slope knitters

This group of ladies came and spend a better part of the afternoon with me at the store.
They were such a delight as I helped them look for yarn and patterns for projects. If a group of you knitters wants to phone ahead to let us know you are coming we would love to get things ready for you. Just send us an email or give us a ring.

Now I know some of you are saying it is way to early to post photos of ornaments but let me explain please. I just love the color of these and it reminds me of the changing colors here in the mountains. Plus Joan has been busy getting all these beauties unpacked so your eyes can feast on these colors also. I just had to show them to you.

Yarn of Stage will be arriving at Serendipity on Oct 16th. We are one of 125 yarn stores nationwide to participate in this event. Come by to look, touch, and admire these 10 hottest Hand dyed yarn exclusively dyed for this event.

It's a love story in the making for sock knitters. Our Saturday morning knitting ladies are going to love looking through these yarns--I am sure there will be something in there for you lace knitters also.
